crashed curvey sv650s for sale for use as parts donor
I AM NOW BREAKING THIS BIKE - IF YOU WANT ANYTHING PLEASE DO NOT POST HERE POST IN THIS THREAD OR PM ME OR EMAIL FAT_BRSTD@YAHOO.COM
For sale we have my crashed curvy sv650s. It is a category c write off ie they are not going to spend 3 grand putting a front end on it when its only worth just over 2k. I am selling it for someone to use as a donor bike for spares or as a project. It is not capable of being ridden in its current state.
The bike is currently garaged in Chesham Bois (well it will be from Monday the 19th Feb) which is 15mins from High Wycombe, 20 from Aylesbury and 25 from Watford. I have no idea as to what its worth but I am looking at about £700-750 for it as it is as a complete lot as is. If I cant sell it like this then I will be left with no choice but to break it and sell it off in bits as I need the cash to make up the insurance payoff to enough for me to get a tl1000. Also has anyone got any idea what sort of value I might get for if I was to break it and sell bits of individually just out of interest.
The bikes history
The bike is a 99 bike on a T number plate and has done 17854 miles. The bike was used for my daily commute to work what ever the weather including the snow. It has 5 previous owners, the last of which was a fair weather weekend rider who never let it get out without being cleaned and always kept it garaged. It has never put a foot wrong with me and always started fine in the morning no matter how cold or grim it was. I have had it for just over 4 months and it was stored outside, ie not in a garage for the last 3 months and have put about 2,000 miles on it since I got it with it being used every day.
The accident
My post just after it can be read here - http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=83308
Basically some guy turned right across traffic and I hit him at 25-30 on his off side just behind the front light. My front end crumpled up and the bike stopped moving before falling to the floor. It did not go sliding down the road rather it just fell on its side and yes I am fine.
Bad points.
Front forks are totally wrecked as you can see in the pics bellow
Front wheel is apparently no good, I don’t know if it can be straitened but I personally wouldn’t and the front tire has no tread left as well, it was booked in for a new tire 3 days after the accident but I never got it fitted.
Front upper fairing and headlight units are smashed.
Front mud guard is smashed.
Yoke is damaged I think but im not sure. If this counts as steering stem then it is otherwise its not on the list of bits that need replacing from the repair estimate so may be ok but don’t hold our breath.
Good bits
Engine runs fine
Frame is fine, no cracks.
Swing arm is fine
Gear box is fine
Clutch is fine
Petrol tank is fine, some small scratches as it has been used and it has a tank protector on it which is getting quite tatty (it was silver but that layer has come off so its now white).
Rear wheel is fine, not much tread left on the tire though.
Foot rests are fine.
Gear lever and rear brake lever are fine
Front break and clutch levers are fine
Front brake callipers and disks are fine pads are ok, not sure how much life they have left though.
Rear brake calliper and disk are fine new pads less than 1000 miles ago.
Brakes lines are stock rubber ones and are fine
Down pipes which are fine and I believe they are stock
It has a carbon Remus grand prix race exhaust which sounds great. This is a little bit tired though so please don’t think its mint.
High level Remus link pipe which I know are a pain to try and find.
Exhaust hanger strap for high level can. Note you do not need to remove the pillion footrests with this exhaust, I did so however because I never take pillions.
Rear shock is fine and I think it’s a stock one, it’s a yellow spring around a black bit in the middle if that helps with identifying it.
Lower front fairing is ok, a little scratched.
Rear wheel hugger is fine and incorporates a chain guard. This has a sticker on it saying www.bikeclubuk.com which was put on by a previous owner.
Main seat is fine
I have what I think is an OEM seat cowl for it which is the later slightly darker candy blue (2002 I think but don’t quote me) as opposed to the original 99 kind of turquoise blue that the rest of the bikes body work is. Note this has surface scratches on it as it has been used. I got it second hand off ebay after I got the bike.
Dark smoked screen (not a double bubble) is fine.
Battery is fine
Fuse box is fine and all the electrics appear to work but the front headlight is smashed so I don’t know about that.
Chain and sprockets are fine (but I personally wouldn’t put a used chain onto another bike)
Rear indicators and brake light is fine.
Rear cowling is fine.
Side stand is fine
It also has what I think is a category 1 alarm fitted i.e. it auto arms itself after 30 seconds which still works and I think incorporates an immobiliser but im not 100% sure. I can dig up the exact model and specs of this later if anyone wants.
Things I think are ok but cant be sure of until Monday when it gets back from the garage so don’t take them as being ok just yet
Handle bars (stock clipons) have carbon bar ends
Clocks
Front indicators
Mirrors
Parking light
Extras that aren’t on the bike but I have no use for anymore so you can have them as well.
I have the original stock exhaust can which is fine
A brand new bmc race air filter which I never got around to putting in. I don’t know what filter is in the air box at the moment.
Brand new blue anodised clutch and brake levers which I was going to fit when I got braded lines
Brand new R6 throttle tube
Pillion seat which is fine
Pillion foot rests which I took off and are fine
Grab rail with the two screws to put it back in place
Haynes manual
CD with full workshop manual and microfiche of bike (one of those ebay jobs)
I have 3 keys and 2 alarm fobs. It has tax and an mot but I don’t think its going to sail through the next mot though.
I think this is all of it but I may have missed some stuff. If there is anything you want to know please pm me and I will do my best to find out for you or email me at Fat_Brstd@yahoo.com
