Hi more problems
![]() Got it all in one piece and got ready for test ride but the clutch is slipping like mad i.e. full revs in 1st and 1mph. Stripped the cluch basket down and measured the plates all well within tolerance. Could this be caused by poor clutch worm actuator setup as I purchased a new worm and fitted it as the bike didnt have one when I bought it? Its a 2000 curvy |

could be setup, check and adjust worm drive as descrobed on here. if that doesnt sort it have a look at the springs, if theyre shot then pressure between plates will be insufficient to transfer drive.
according to haynes manual they should be at least 56.0mm. |

Have you put the clutch worm actuator in the right way round?
Last time I got a new chain the "mechanic" put the actuator in the wrong way round and the clutch was slipping as soon as I gave it some beans. See here http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=139093 |

Did you adjust the lifter?

Yes actuator is right way round. I've refitted the clutch and it feels different. Before when I was stripping it down the clutch was spinning when I was undoing the clutch plate bolts even when in gear. Now it doesnt move when in gear or not in gear, but when the clutch lever is pulled in the clutch plate moves on the case can spin. I'm thinking the previous owner fitted it incorrectly. I'm waiting for the gasket sealer to cure so I can refill with oil and try again

Well it was the worm drive adjustment that was causing the issue, what a wacky design!!
