Default If Triumph made an SV equivalent, would you consider one?

I would love to buy a British bike next time round. Something halfway between a Daytona and a Sprint would suit me down to the ground. I want fairings but I don't want the full tourer; I like sports style but I'm not sure I want the full 675R supersports; I'm not anti-adventure style (Mrs DJ has settled on a V-Strom) but I don't personally want to ride one.

I want a less extreme Daytona, basically I want Triumph to build a nice middleweight triple. What does the mighty org think?

street triple?
Or the 675 instead of the 675r?

Triumph done a "half way house" kind of thing a decade ago with the sprint RS, half faired, cheaper suspension that kind of thing, falling between the Daytona and the Sprint ST, but that was all based around the 955cc lump.

Cheers Mark.

A nice Daytona, if I can find a nice 675 rather than the old 650 or 955 for the right money, is still very tempting. I'm just not sure my back is up to it! That's one of the reasons I love the SV - it looks quite sporty but the riding position isn't too scrunched. Mind you, a 675 with Renthals might fit ok

(goes away planning lottery wins, bank jobs.....)

it was a toss up between the older 675 and the SV the first time round. i plumbed for the SV and when i took the wife to see it she pointed at the 675 and said that that..

i then pointed at the SV which i had bought and she said YUCK (her favourite word).

but yes i agree that Triumph should consider a not to aggressive faired middle weight.

I've been wondering why Triumph don't make one. They've already got the 675cc bikes to base one on, so it wouldn't cost much to develop and would probably be a big seller. I'd certainly consider buying one, though I'd have to sell one of my other Triumphs first!

They don't need to.
As long as people keep buying the 675 and the street in the numbers that they are selling in, they wont look at filling a gap they don't see as lucrative enough

The older 600 and 650 is longer and wider than the 675, far less scrunched up than the 675 too, more relaxed angles with plenty of space.
I looked at the 675 but was'nt able to ride one for long due to the position
Killed my neck and shoulders but still love the bike
