Horrible grating noise - rear wheel.

recently developed a really horrible random intermittent metal grating noise which seems to come from around the rear wheel somewhere Only happens in the mornings as I reverse bike out of garage - sometimes happens if I wheel it backwards and forwards but not always. Not always at same point - sometimes doesn't do it, sometimes does. Have checked everything tightened up. checked & changed brake pads, checked & changed bearings but still have to wince every so often. Does not happen at any time except mornings.
Any ideas?

What bike? Year, model etc? Any modifications? Mileage? How long have you had the bike?

Are the discs standard? Does the bike live outside?

The more detail you can give the better.

Off the bat I'd say if it only does it in the morning, do you get some rust building up on the discs overnight? Not uncommon and can sound less than great until the pads clean it off.
