Question SV1000S Tyre size - advice please

Looking to get a new rear and checked owners manual and says tyre size is 190/50/ZR17 (73W)

check the internet and advised size is 180/50ZR17

Phone bike shop they also say 180/50

When i replaced the front tyre it was the incorrect size so checking the rear wont give me a "confident" answer.. previous owner had fitted tyre for 650

so anybody able to shed some light as to what size i should be fitting to the rear??

thanks

Every SV1000 I've seen has 120/70-17 front and 180/55-17 rear.

Not even sure there is a 180/50 in bike sizes.

Hmmm... What does that fit I wonder? Whatever it is it's definitely the wrong size for an SV1000.

Despite your picture from the owners manual, I'm still certain 190 isn't the right size and the workshop manual I have, Suzuki's own not Haynes, also says 180/55.

you need a 55 aspect ratio on a 180 to keep the rolling circumference correct,
you going 55 to quicken the steering?

180/55 seems to be the norm these days, should be ok with that

On the RSV you have the option of 190/50 or 180/55 so as your book has 190 size listed, same as yours it be fine

As above, the Metzeler site says 180/55, the Continental site lists 180/55 and 190/50, so presumably optional.
