hi all i have a gsxr 750 srad with remote start.
just got a slight problem with it since i installed it the other day. everything works on it apart from the ignition side of things, i press ignition buttom on fob the bike ticks over but no power to lights and the bike doesnt start...could this be due to the fact that there could be a resistor in the ignition switch? if so how do i get by this? before http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/a...erz/wiring.jpg after http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/a...rz/wiring2.jpg i think this is how it might be done but not sure... if some one could give me a heads up then that would be great. thanks |

Well there is in the SV so I would have thought the GSXR is the same. Bear in mind that the resister is there to prevent someone from hot-wiring it[1] but yes your diagram is correct.
Druid [1] And it saved my SV from being stolen.

Slightly off topic, but what is the advantage of a remote start? I don't get it?

Not a bad thing in the winter to warm up the bike before you get out on it either. Not that i have it or have ever had it, lol, and i'd imagine its a lot more usefull on a car since the doors stayed locked so no one can drive off in it...but whats to stop em jumping on your bike and riding off???

Just so long as the clutch switch isn't bypassed too, otherwise its a remote tipping over device surely?

found out that the ecu needs 8-9vs to fire.... + line to switch is 12v but in switch is 100ohm resistor so when switch is on it reduces the 12v to 8 v using resistor... so if i put the resistor from the + line to the ecu line would this then power ecu to tell it to fire?
sorry if its confusing but to me it sounds about right |
