Hi
I was wondering if M4 Exhaust is legal? And what about M4 GP series? is it also legal? Do you guys recommend them? and which is better? and do you know where I can buy them in London? J. |

I wouldn't worry about whether they're legal or not
![]() I have full M4 and it is definitely not legal. Sounds good though ![]() Post is way to go for new exhaust. Most road legal ones are advertised as "with removable baffle"

MOT will be fine, you just need to find a good MOT station.
For police it is only a small fine if they decide to bother, and they probably won't.

Dont worry because so many bikes run loud exhausts. In london, a loud bike is a good thing, when filtering you can make drivers you are alongside aware of you a bit better. An MoT tester may fail you for it, or may just issue an advisory. There are some who dont mind as long as it has the appropriate markings to indicate it is road legal, even if the baffle is removed.
I havn't been tagged by the police with my fuel exhaust, which isnt that loud to be honest. You may get pulled for making lots of noise if you thrash everywhere, making lots of noise. But on a whiff of throttle it isnt that loud at all really. |

Yes it is aftermarket, I don't see a suzuki badge on it
![]() Do they make that for SV fitment? It will be mentally loud. The GSXR has some pre-silencer because of big collector box and catalyst underneath engine.

Are you saying it will be louder than the one in the video?

"Friendly" MOT stations are getting harder to find, the few I've used in the past are stricter now than they used to be. In London, it appears that VOSA are more regularly inspecting and trying to catch out MOT stations. Failing these tests can mean the licence is revoked.
Short answer is that I would happily run a full M4 system in London, but at the very least you'll need a baffle to quieten it down a little for MOT time. Jambo

I had a high-level 2 into 1 M4 on the SV1000. Definately very not legal. Check your insurance before you go getting all illegal though. Policy will want to know you've changed it anyway and if it's not EU marked (M4 typically not as US made) they may well not cover you. Best to know where you stand up-front rather than once bike is in a ditch somewhere in a curiously uninsured kind of way.
Whether you chose to tell them or not or be illegal or not is down to you but don't be suprised if you have issues should you ever want to claim but are not in a position to quicly switch back to something standard. As for MOTs, if they fail you JUST for that, suggest you go elsewhere.
