Default Battery Problem

Hiya Guys/Gals

When i put my lights on they seem to drain my battery as the day after i cannot start my bike

Also my lights get dimmer when on long journeys

I have replaced my battery and have taken the following readings:

Fully Charged 13.17V
Battery at 5000 revs 15.15V
Idle 15.24V

I have not done the tests with the lights on yet though

I appreciate your help

Cheers

15.24v sounds a bit high. Get these measurements

Engine off Volt
Engine idle V
Engine 5k V

Lights on Idle
Lights on 5k

Curvy, or pointy?
Could be Regulator/rectifier. 15v does sound high, should be in the 14s when revved to about 3 - 4000rpm
Tick over should be in the 13s

Sounds like reg/rec but give your connectors and earth a check over.
Have a look through this electrical diagnosis guide http://www.electrosport.com/media/pd...ng-diagram.pdf
Or have a read through my thread here http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=164281

Hope its of some use till the clever peeps come along
