LED indi flash rate fix? - SV650.org

This is probably a simple fix, but I will ask anyways:

Got two LED indicators connected to the SV, with relay, and the flash rate was good.
Connected two at the rear yesterday and with or without a flay they flash double rate, and make the fronts do the same, so all four indicators work but they are flashing tpat the rate as if one is broken.
How do I fix it

Either fit a flasher relay designed to work with LED indicators, or fit the dummy load resistors to enable the standard relay to work.

A flash relay specific for led indys is better than a load resistor.

okey done cheers, will get myself a couple of them.

is it worth noting that with hazards on they flash as the normal rate, only when left of right is on by itself it flashes double rate

The fast flashing behaviour is absolutely to be expected when fitting LED indicators, the flasher relay flash rate is load dependant, and LED lamps present a lower load than incandescent ones do. This will fix the problem and is a direct replacement, or you could buy a universal electronic relay but you will need to take the original relay out of the circuit and splice this one in. The standard relay also controls the sidestand/neutral gear starter inhibit relay so you need to retain this function.

Where did you get your LED flash relay from?? I'm having same trouble as you but haven't a clue which relay I need and where from?

ooohh, i like the flasher relay!

Might get me one and some nice LED's. Am i right in thinking then you would need LED's on both front and back for the relay to work correctly?
