Default 60p a stamp - now that is having a laugh

I'd be happy to pay it if we got a decent service.

Currently we have just one delivery tues -sat, (monday they are too busy I'm told), I've had first class take a month to arrive, far too much just not arrive at all. Stuff that does arrive is often not for me, so I have to trudge round the estate doing the posties job for him. (which may explain where some of my stuff goes and other just can't be bothered).

Once upon a time I remember first and second posts, almost certainty of things arriving next day, actual post offices rather than counters at the back of shops you need to wipe your feet on the way out of.

And yet.. I can post a package to europe and it arrives quicker than posting a birtday card to the midlands, and the cost is not much more.

Royal mail, consignia or whatever you are, sort yourselves out.

rant over, and relax.

I joined blockbuster the other month, was told my DVD has been dispatched and 3 weeks later it still hadn't turnmed up so I cancelled it. Got a letter last week from the royal mail basically apologising that one of there members of staff had been hoarding the post and lo and behold there was the DVD with it, what a joke.

Its a huge % rise but is the Royal Mail that bad. I work remotely from Head Office and although the vast majority of documents/mail is electronic there are a significant number of items I post every month. In 12 years I've had ONE item go astray and 3 items arrive a couple of days late.

Occasionally I have to use private couriers for items that need to be there ultra quick - now in the main they are rubbish.

In reality, 60p is pennies and buys IMO a great service.

Agreed and even at the new prices they are dirt cheap compared to many European countries.

Yes it is comparatively cheap, but it is still the kick we needed to ensure that we are going to start e-mailing all our invoices out to clients, it will save us a fortune in paper, ink, envelopes and postage.
