I use Pinnacle Studio 16. It seems pretty much faultless (at least for the way I'm using it), does multi-track editing in 2D and 3D, and it's reasonably cheap at about sixty quid.

I use Sony Vegas 10, which I got, ahem, yeh you guessed it Very in depth, I don't know what half the things do, but its pretty easy to get your head round with a few youtube tutorials,

Cyberlink PowerDirector 10. Same class as the other two mentioned above! I think it's horses for courses. I've not had any problems with it. Seems stable and plenty of features. Not too difficult to pick up either. Downloadable custom plugsin, transitions etc. as it has it's own scripting language.

I just send my footage to Fallout who then does nothing with it. Seems to work fine for me.
