Yeah if you wanted the same balance in the shock, but if you're valving and springing it then it would make more sense to start with a shock with closer to the length you want.

^ ok cheers YC, will leave it as it is then

according to racetech i need a 9kg spring but the standard is 8.6kg so most likely wouldent have been worth it any way

Racetech is not the best, they just use a table, a tuners guess is more reliable.

If you did go that route then you would be better to use a longer shock so you could get rid of your raising dogbones. But many people think there aren't any OEM shocks worth revalving.

Find a secondhand penkse

They are that good. Same step up from GSXR shock or whatever other OEM kit to the penske as you get going from the stock SV one to a GSXR one.

Finally installed my K3 Gixer rear shock onto the pointy. What a palava! The battery box is integrated with the undertray etc so all the rear plastics had to come off. I struggled a bit with getting the bike off the floor, but axle stands under the pillion pegs did the job. Battery box has been trimmed etc and I'll need to get a smaller profile battery (think Neeja got one didn't he?).

Problem is, I don't have a torque wrench suitable for doing up the bolts (the range on the one I have is too high). Quick question though, the bolt at the top of the shock, should that be tightened so much that the shock doesn't move, or is the shock supposed to pivot on this point?
