is a 340mm long shock to long for a k3 ? im looking at the zx6r 08 shock with the 9.2kg spring but its 340mm long rather than 330mm

now for my weight race tech state that 9kg spring is what i need on the sv stock shock, at the moment i have a 03 gixer thou shock with a 8.6kg spring 332mm long

i dont suppose any one would know what difference the height would be at the back from a 10mm longer shock ? would it be enough to ditch the 25mm jack up plates ? meaning would it be 25mm or more mm higher at the back ?

ok thanks

just need to find out how much the 10mm added length at the shock translates to added height at the back of the bike

PS sorry for spelling have no spell check on this PC

hmm ok then so i will be losing 9mm at the rear (gsxr is 2mm longer than stock so double is that plus the 25mm jack up plates that i will remove = 29mm)

i think i can live with 9mm lower, with the better (i think?) linkage ratio

thanks again

What are you trying to achieve by changing a Gixxer shock for a ZX6R?

harder spring rate (the zx is exactly what i need), and removing the jack up plates that apparently mess up the linkage ratio, so i will still have near enough the same fell and ease of drop in as i have now but potentualy a better feeling rear end

i figured that i now have my new front end on that just happens to be sprung for my weight i might as well get the back sorted for my weight as well

im not definetly going to do it yet but i would like to
