I knew there was a reason I bought lens covers for my sv650s. Biffa bin men decided to run a big red metal bin into it and cracked the lens cover if they had hit the actual headlight then that would be a small fortune to replace. hopefully I have them on camera as well as the paint marks so that I can do something about it.

Speak to the local biffa office and make a formal claim against them. If you get no where, use the "I'm getting my insurance involved" and see what happens (then do it if needs be).
Biffa will be paying out all the time as some of the drivers shouldn't have licences. There is the address and contact number for them http://www.ihumberside.co.uk/profile...-Services-Ltd/

Good luck. I tried doing this to a skip company that used my dad's car as a bump-stop when it dropped a skip into the next parking space. They said "do one" and dad bottled out of the insurance route so the b*stards got away with it.

You could always bring a claim on
https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/ Cheap, pretty guaranteed to win and don't need to involve solicitors (but they will) so they should just settle |

it will be a lot cheaper for them to just pay for the damage

So rang the office they said i need to speak to there insurance but they dont work weekends and work 9-5 weekdays not great when I havent got time during the day looks like its a call from work on Monday to try and get this sorted. Seams the have also damaged the front mud guard too but will be a lot cheaper for them to settle then going the insurance route but if needs must I will get my insurers involved.

Did you get them on camera? It was a possibility in your OP.
In the absence of any witnesses or CCTV footage, there's a good chance you'll get the cold shoulder from their insurer. Your own insurer might not be any luckier so that would be a reduction in your No Claims Bonus if you go that route. Get your evidence together before you do anything else. I have an idea what might happen here. I might be wrong but I would recommend that you expect no help whatsoever from Biffa's insurers. |

If the damage took place at work, is it worth speaking to your facilities management?
