not those exact ones, but they're canoe bags. Completely waterproof- even if submerged

You'd never get a canoe in one of those

Not that particular brand, but have used dry-bags for many years. They are ace! I will be packing my tent / sleeping bag / sleep mat into two such bags for strapping onto the bike. I would recommend getting bags with no carry straps to avoid scratching the bike.

The only problem you need to look out for is the material used in manufacture. Some materials (some kind of plastic usually) can go hard and crack in lowish temperatures. Get the kind made from shiny rubbery material as these are more flexible and do not crack, just as waterproof though. These type of bag are a bit more expensive, but might be worth the money (are worth it IMO)

You can buy this type of bag from any watersports / sailing shop. Good brands are Sealline, Palm and Crew-saver. If shopping on the net, look at REI.

Talking of using canoeing containers for biking, anyone used a BDH screw top tube (used for disposing of dirty syringes)? I reckon the recesses running around them would make them easy to bungee down. I've not done it yet, but might give it a go in the near future.
