Default Philips X-Treme - Antisocial?

After installing a set of these a couple of weeks ago (with plenty of reassurance and instruction from here) I was really pleased with them, very bright etc but I constantly get drivers flashing their lights as if I've got full beam on (which obviously not) even in daylight!
does this happen to everyone or is my bike somehow not set up quite right?

so what do I do:
A: Ignore them and let them think I don't care
B: burn their retinas and flash the full beam

Any input appreciated

PS why is it that when you switch to full beam it turns the normal one off, things are much more visible with both on (held the pass signaller on for a while to test ), guess it might get a bit hot though?

B - give them a quick flash and a nod to acknowledge them.

i have the same bulbs and haven't had one flash in 6 months with them, but then again the island drivers are so bad by the time they'd react you'll be home with a brew

on a related note i installed osram nightbreakers in the car the other night, dipped and main beams, now the front of the car is like a lightsaber

Option B all the time. Noticed exactly the same thing when I installed the same bulbs in my SV. I'd get flashes and people dipping there mirrors when I was behind them. Good, they saw me.

Now I have to say I see a lot of cars with those 50% brighter bulbs and it REALLY p*sses me off! I get completely blinded, can't see the road or verge or anything, just have to aim slightly to the left of them and hope. I think it is really dangerous and antisocial and I can't see why having a brighter light makes car drivers see you any more or less. Normal lights are bright enough, if you want more you have full beam!! So take them off!

mine are 90% brighterings...

properly adjusted they're no brighter on dipped than normal lights to an oncoming driver, if you're having problems it's because they're not properly adjusted and/or you're looking into them or your eyesight isn't up to driving on the road. i have no problems navigating past the swarms of dotty pensioners driving everywhere using their main beams on the island...

if you're heavy and the rear preload isn't set correctly this can alter the aim.
