Default Re: Kit reccomendations for Kids as Pillions

When my kids were small, I was able to get good kit for them from 'For Sale' boards in biker hangouts (mainly Squires as I lived in York). Kids grow out of kit and 're-cycled' gear is normally in good nick as it does not get the use adult stuff does. This makes buying next year's kit cheaper to.

Another possibility is the BMF show coming up soon - plenty of specialist kids manufacturers display / sell there

Boots, jeans and jacket were all bought this way.

Cheers guys some good suggestions so far. Thanks.

I will go and look at Both J&S and HG in Bristol with Shannon one day soon, ill let her choose what she likes with encouragement from me as I want her to have at least shoulder knee and elbow padding as well.

LP, good idea about second hand kids kit.

It will be good to be able to nip out to a few meets this summer with her when my wife is at work in the evenings. And who knows you may see an extra little org member on a few ride outs with us. Obviously I will be at the back going a little slower than normal with her on board.

And I will deff get the auto com kit for her to let me know how she is getting on during the ride.

I gave my nearest J&S a call to find out how much of the kids gear they stocked. The nearest one to me is in London. If you have to travel any sort of distance to get there, I'd give them a call to see. It would be a shame to waste all the time it takes to get there only to find they don't have it in stock.

We are taking Megan (daughter) to J&S next weekend. She doesn't know yet and won't know until we get there that we are actually buying the gear for her there and then. I'll be going down on the bike under the pretence of buying something for the bike. She'll be having her first pillion ride for the trip home. Hence checking they had the full stock so we could ensure she had all the right fitted kit for the trip back.

So this is where all my OT for last month is going. Money well spent as far as I am concerned.
