In all fairness though that's not enough. We might as well say that speeding is dangerous purely because it's on a public road - I know (hope?) since you are on PH that you have seen that argument many times and also the counter argument, which will generally be that he might well have been in an area where the road in front of him was clear with no traffic and he could see far enough along each entrance to the junction that he could be sure no-one could possibly get in the way should he choose to show off like that.

My view is that if he did it as above, then fair's fair as he'll only affect himself if he gets caught or crashes, however if there is any chance that he could affect someone else then it's not on.

P.s. Speedy Claire's example is one where he did not ensure it was completely clear and 'safe' (other than for himself) to perform that action...

See below for why.

Not exactly rocket science is it?

Trace
If you have never ever gone over the speed limit, riden/driven enthusiatically on a public road then fair enough .

This is because we have to think of the Police and paramedics who would have to attend, if one was to have an unfortunate incident. We must also not forget other road users who may come across such an incident(and possibly be scarred for life too)......even if half a mile from us prior to incident

Yep, not rocket science that accidents/incidents do occur

Ben

ps: pulled a huge one today....going to start another thread for that though

I deleted it cos when I read it back I sounded like a sanctimonious prat. And I didn't like it. Unfortunately you all got to it before I realised you had and quoted me for posterity. Oh well, teach me not to drink on a school night

I would love to be able to have the skill to do something like that, but my point still stands about time and place. IMHO pulling wheelies when other people are about and could get hurt as a result of your actions seems a tad silly really. Time and place wise, well I try to pick mine carefully to 'explore' the lepton factors of my various vehicles. I think it is why I have still got a clean licence after 20 years of driving. Although I can recall a few times where I have driven like a complete pillock and still cringe when I think about it.

Apologies for confusing you Muffles.

Trace, no drama . I sometimes sound like an arguementative git anyways hehe

I would disagree that in certain circumstabces , it might indeed be a tad(just a tad mind ) silly but I like to think no one is intending to come off.

Yes, you might come off and might be even more unfortunate to invove just involve not just yourself but same applies to a host of other things....ce la vie

That is not to say, I do not take on board the fact that folks might see 'wheelies' as 'totally different' ....just different for me s'ppose

Same as you, I do sometimes cringe(or even get goose bumbs) at some of the things I had done. Not completely a saint haha yet but defo know I don't bounce as well as I used to
