i agree that registration acomplishes nothing in its self, other than to accetain if all the pupils are in attendance.

My point being why do people nowadays think that they dont have to pay attention to them or think that they have the right to go against them if they dont like them

Too many bleeding hearts around that think they have the god given right to do as they please because its their human righ to. rather than actually have som moras and standards and actually god forbid do as they are told.

SHe chose to attend this 6th form so she can fall in f**ing line and get on and accept that the reules are for every pupil which includes her. As i said no one is forcing her to stay, if the nasty school is making hte poor little lamb do as she is told she can leave to do as she feels else where.

I mean god forbid she gets on with it and accepts the conditions of attending.

There is a big difference between following the rules for the benefit or yourself and others, and being a mindless drone following them without question.

They did i just tend to type quick and fu*k it up!

Why am i up my own ar*e, maybe because I think that people should not be looking for an excuse all the time to get out of doing the slightest thing that they dont want to??

I mean come on its like you turning around and saying to your employer, oh BTW i am not going to turn up to work tomorrow on time as i dont have any meetings till lunch anyway. oh and i dont like my desk and chair anymore!!

WFT are these people going to do when they enter the real world and dont like a rule or regulation.

Have to say that I hardly turned up to sixth-form, didn't attend any of the "compulsory" lessons and spent most of the time self-studying with guidance from teachers and got through fine. My head did at one point tell me that I had to attend these lessons or there would be repercussions, but there weren't any. I think as long as her grades are good, what's the point in trying to enforce it?

Rules are all fine and dandy until they start to be counter-productive. On the flip-side of this, I didn't particularly care if I got kicked out of sixth-form or not, so it depends on her attitude towards this

Yes there is, but more and more in this world people tend to rock the boat off the back of their Human rights to do so. It really fuc*s me off, i mean we might as well not have any rules, instructions, guide lines and regulations if people just feel they can do as they want. Why not go the whole hog and live in anorchy!!

I think the school are right( 6th form is still school not college) as not turning up at 9 am for registration ( assuming there is in this 6th form, there was in mine) is effectivly a non attendance so techincally they can get her on that.

I use to have loads of free periods at 6ht form and yes some were first thing, but me and my mates still attended.

Your sister should wind her neck in and just abide the rules rather than trying to fight them.
this is a school not the armed forces. We should encourage her to making her own decisions not to become a mindless numpty who just does as she is told because she is told to - she doesn't want to join the army. Might want to think for herself.

As for the suggestion that she show up for registration and then sit about all day instead of being home and doing her work, well that just silly.

And if she went in for registration and then "bunked off" and went home and god forbid there was a firedrill or su=omesuch she'd get into a hell of a lot of crap for it.

If you're adult enought to choose to stay for further education and have been a good pupil then they should treat you with the respect an adult deserves and that includes allowing your own time managment and responsibility for signing in and out.
at last someone with something sensible to say.

She has chosen to stay on to study. she should be able to do this the way it suits her (within reason). She is 17 and therefore I'm assuming she has completed her compulsory education. My daughter is 15 and studying at college, she gets a day off a week and finishes early to complete studies at home.

Wish her all the best Maria and I think your parents are right to go into the school to discuss what is best for her.
