I dont think she/parents needs a lawyer - just a meeting with the head to explain the situation and work through the options to resolve any problems.

Trouble is mate everytime you get involved you,re full on, no one gets a look in, and if they do they just get shouted down.

She's not looking for an excuse to get out of doing something, she wants to work but the school doesn't have the facilities that she needs

Exactly and in this case I think that turning up at 9am will achieve nothing but time wasted

Not true, yes i argue strongley and with passion on some topics. I dont mind people arguing with me as long as they dont make assumptions about my job whrn why havent got a clue!!

I dont shout people down at all, but few people are willing to be as full on as me.

I make no apologies about my style, or lack of it at times. People who have been on here long enough know what makes me go off on one and how strong my feelings are on certain things.

I tend to agree with Neio here.

At 17 every rule is unreasonable to you the whole world is out to make your life difficult!

Perhaps the rule is in place, because without it, the students attendance falls. There are hundreds of consequences everyone seems to be overlooking.

Education is broader than solely bookwork. Rules exist in every part of our lives, of which I don't agree with all of them, but need to follow. The earlier you learn this, the earlier you can contribute to society.
