I notice that the Gladius has a built-in gear indicator.
no way, loud cans save lives but a gear indiscator does nothign to let nearby traffic know you're there.

Cause your bike goes back to the same revs as before.

Well thats an interesting theory but I doubt whether it can be proved. If we're going to get ethical about this then surely we should do our bit to reduce greenhouse emissions by sticking to the standard exhaust along with the catalytic converter?

Lol, it always makes me laugh when peeps try to say bikes are "greener" than cars or what not but thats anohter story.

Point i'm making here si that you'd here me coming from further away with an afternarket can than on the original, so if you can hear me from fruther away you are aware of my existance earlier and hence have the chance to look out for me earlier too. Hence the addage of loud cans save lives. I nearly got hit by one of those bloody electric cars in the west end of london the other day, cos they make virtualy no noise at all.

Cats don't reduce Greenhouse Gases (CO2) in fact they probably increase them by reducing economy.

The whole purpose of a catalytic converter is to reduce emissions. That's precisely why manufacturers in order to abide by stricter government emission regulations are producing leaner engines with catalytic converters. The issue of whether bikes should be greener and its ethical implications is best left for another thread. Besides, I don't want to bore you to death.

£100 is a lot of money for something that you can do without if you don't lose concentration. If I forget to remember what gear I'm in I do usually have to double check (but usually find my gut instinct was right anyway ). Anyone know of any cheaper alternatives?
