Don't know if the can on my bike came stubbied from the factory or was a homemade jobby, but it looks and sounds amazing!

Ralph gave me some which i used, as long as you have about a third sticking out once its gone through both sheets of metal, thatll be fine imo. If you wanna neat cut, i would cut a piece of 18 thick plywood the same shape as the inner of the can and put it in there snugly the other side of the cut so that the good part is supported, if you undertsand that ? |

use stainless rivits if you can.
my father-in-law and i stubbied my blueflame i didnt like the length so asked him to chop a couple of inches off. he cut it in half ![]() <---- look here when you get it all apart and decide the length you want put insulation tape round the can/sleeve gives you a nice guide to cut round so you dont get a wiggerly line. |

Well I made a right royal **** up of stubbying the can. So annoyed, ruined a brand new can just to lose 4 inches. If I can't rescue of do you still have the can going cheap?

what went wrong?
put some pics of the probs might be able to sort it. the blueflame evo that i stubbied was a right pain in the bum as it has twin exit so the inside tube had to heaverly modified/cut and welded to make it fit back together didnt think about it till we choped the sleeve took 4 hours to fettle it. |

Yeah will do. I've got to do the bank holiday family thing today, maybe I'll get a chance later. I'm sure it's not completely ruined, I was just having a Diva strop
![]() What's happened is as I've made the cut it's deformed the shape of the can and I cant get the end piece back in and I've rippled the end trying to force it in. I'm sure if I cut ann extra few cm's off It can be rescued. Just that I don't think I have the ability to do it being a ham fisted oaf that I am ![]() |

Did you put a wooden piece in the inside as you cut it to stop it deforming? If you wanted to slightly flare the end to get the end cap on, you could make or use wooden former inside but taper the edge by a few degress, then tap it in, this should give you a few extra mm's hopefully. |
