I'm glad to see that you are getting another GSXR so soon after losing the last one, I can't imagine how gutting it must have felt seeing your pride and joy had dissappeared.

All this GSXR talk isn't helping me what-so-ever.

My SV is going in for it's 11k service tomorrow and I will have to walk past a full line up of the different types and colours of the GSXR to hand my keys in, they are all lined up next to the doorway at EC Bate, which is my local dealer. I'm dreading it especially as I have heard about the good deals that seem to be going about.

Another thing I have noticed is that since sitting on one saturday some really strange annoying things have started bugging me on the SV, really minor things that I never noticed before?

I did promise myself a full year on the SV before I changed, but the voices are calling and I am really struggling to resist - HELP!!!

I like the GSXR, but like the black ones the Blue and White look too common as they are everywhere, and have seen a few red ones, i never liked the black and silver (seen loads in the place i got my bike serviced in March), but i guess all our tastes are different. I would love to ride one one day, but i am putting it off otherwise i'll want to get rid of my SV, and i can't afford that at the moment, and its not top of my priorities at the moment either.

Good luck with your new bike Kate. Glad to see you're not letting the thieving scum put you off getting what you want.

Well, I went in to my local Suzi dealer yesterday after work and sat on the beast (the gixxer 600). First thing I noticed was how different it felt to pick up off the side stand -absolutely amazing! It feels like there is nothing to it even though it is not really that much lighter than the SV. It also felt rock solid!

The dealer offered me £1800 for my SV which I was pleasantly surprised with, that was against an OTR price of £6100 for the gixxer (no alarm or other extras). A £300 deposit would mean taking £4000 finance to cover the difference so I went home to discuss that with SWMBO.

Didn't go well. 'We' have now decided that now is not the time to take out (another) loan for a motorbike and thus I will not be getting one Nor any other bike costing more than I could sell my SV for by the sounds of it!

Oh well, back to dreaming for me!

In fairness we are getting married in 2 weeks time (which is costing a fortune!) and we need to buy a house later in the year so it probably is wise to leave it for the time being and wait a year or two until I can really afford it. But I do really want a black gixxer after sitting on one!

I have to agree that it was also one of the first things I noticed how light it felt, just moving it from side to side........it also felt a bit lower. So between the lightness and the lower seat height, I felt I had more control whilst stationary than I do on the SV!

That was what I really didn't want..............

Gixxers all round then

The height of the seat and the way it carries it's weight surprises a few people. Sam, who is having a running competition with Law as to who has the lowest SV, ran my bike for a week (I'm mad, I know) and was very happy with being able to get her feet down (not flat, but enough). Now she wants one too. Doh!

I think I may force law to sit on my bike at the weekend and see if I can turn another to the darkside

The GSXR is niiiice especially my route to work being all back roads over chobham heath. weeeee. I can get both feet on the floor enough to move the bike if needed, and it felt so smooth to ride making me have more confidence in my riding.

It does come with evil voices that bury into your brain saying faster faster

As much as i want one, i am happy enough on my SV for now she does the job i need her to do. I'll start looking for what is about next year . Will have to go and try some for size but it will of course have to be black

£6100 is a good price, is that for a K7 or K6?

Best I could find was £6200 for a K6 in the end, and £6300 for a K7, I think. But I always asked for the price with an alarm since I want it there from the start, one of life's little necessities!

Ace!!

Hang on... I must resist the temptation of the dark side. A Jedi must not crave these things.
