As for the colours thing, If I was buying again. I'd buy the all black 750... I just think it looks the dogs nuts.

The £6100 OTR is a K7 in black (only difference between a K6 and K7 as far as I'm aware is the colours?) This is the price they offered me with me trading in my SV, I guess on the basis that they know they would make another few hundred on reselling my SV.

I have been looking at loans this morning....need to stop myself!

Trying not to teach people how to suck eggs and stuff but.....

Think about the dealer you intend to buy from. It will always be easier (or should be) to get warranty work sorted by the dealer that supplied the bike. Some dealers aren't interested in 3rd party warranty claims.

Also, think about after sales service, it can sometimes be worth a few quid more to buy more locally from a dealer where, if necessary, you can actually get to speak to someone should you have a problem.

Finally, there's no such thing as a free lunch. A dealer will not sell to you at a loss (unless it's an unshiftable product, which the GSXR certainly isn't). So ask yourself why is he doing you such a good deal, and then ask him.

I'm always up for getting a deal, but sometimes I'm prepared to pay a little more for peace of mind. This bike is going to be with you for at least a couple of years, so a good relationship with your dealer is important.

Personally, if I were buying a new Suzuki, I would only entertain two dealers, one of which is a good 30 minutes away, the other is 5 minutes. I wouldn't use the guys in Slough, they upset me once and I won't go back there.

West London Suzuki and Steve Jordan would be my pick of dealers in and around the M25. I have a great relationship with WLS, and Steve & Sarah have got nothing but fantastic recommendations.

You pays your money and all that....

completely agree..... beautiful

I would love to test ride one, but I kind of know that if I do I am on the road to buying it, and I really can't afford it

The dealer offered me £1800 for my SV which I was pleasantly surprised with, that was against an OTR price of £6100 for the gixxer (no alarm or other extras). A £300 deposit would mean taking £4000 finance to cover the difference so I went home to discuss that with SWMBO.

Didn't go well. 'We' have now decided that now is not the time to take out (another) loan for a motorbike and thus I will not be getting one Nor any other bike costing more than I could sell my SV for by the sounds of it!

Oh well, back to dreaming for me!

In fairness we are getting married in 2 weeks time (which is costing a fortune!) and we need to buy a house later in the year so it probably is wise to leave it for the time being and wait a year or two until I can really afford it. But I do really want a black gixxer after sitting on one!
Who was the dealer that offered £6100 OTR for the K7 please?

I agree, I actually had George White's recommended by a friend, but not the Slough branch. Maybe that's a problem... I guess we'll see, if any work is needed! I did want to go with a dealer another friend recently used for his 600, but unfortunately they were offering the Laserline alarm and they don't do a Datatool, at any price...

Hi mate, 'Speedaway Motorcycles' have them for £6100, near Brum. They reckon they're not making any money on them but I would imagine they are!

HTH, Cheers

Looking round t'internet 'KJM Superbike' appear to have the K7 600 at £5999, as well as the K6 for £5499 and lots of older 750 models, brand new, for good prices. Might be worth a look for anyone up that way. Bit far for the Southrners to go but I'd possibly go there to save a couple of hundred quid! (even though I'm still not allowed one!)

Kate,

Steve Jordans meant to be good at getting your suspension all sorted. Couple of mates have been there to have there's done, and they say the bike handles so much better afterwards.

Thinking about it myself.

And congrats on being back on the bike
