Thanks for this bluepete The thread seems to have derailed a bit from the original question..! (no problem with this though, its quite good to have a good ol' debate about things). I'll also tell my parents to find the schools own 'terms and conditions' as well.

Anyhoo - there are both sides to every story so that is why my parents are going to see the head of sixth form to get to the root of the issue. Because as some others have said, something does not sit right. i.e. why would a student who does the work get kicked out.

Hope the dismantling of your poor SV is going alright..!

That ones already been covered - they get registered for every lesson anyway, so fire safety isn't a valid reason.

This thread is so funny, I have only just caught it, some of the replies, Gettin2Dizzys with the cat is funny (not thread related but was still funny pic), I'm with Ed (post 67) on Xans post, I spat Pepsi when I read that!

She may benefit from going to school all day when she has a lesson that day, distribute her free periods at school for studying. Then when she hasn't got a lesson, don't go in...Give herself proven study time in school as she's on the register for the day...Then on her free days, she is free to do as she likes? Be it Study or go out, sit and watch the box, whatever...A solution for everyone?

Interesting read this...

1st off - FFS! 4 courses?!?! How hard can it be? Media studies...??? Where the hell is she going with that? More people should be doing proper subjects aiming to do proper jobs! Whatever happened to people doing Maths, Science, Physics, Languages???

Secondly, As rude as Neio was, between the lines I agree with him...I must be honest, the bloke does get a bit fired up but I understand why...way too many lefty, guardian-reading soap dodgers around these parts.

It did make me laugh though...all 15 pages of it! Glad I dont come here that often any more
