Hmmm comfort.

Might be worth looking at maybe getting some riser bars on it. Im not sure what the conversion is like from the Naked but im sure it wont be hard or particularly expensive. Maybe someone with the know?

But before you do that try a naked for position. It should be more sit up so more comfortable for you.

Cheers,

Nick

Thanks for all of your replies and opinions they've all been very helpful.

I had the bike from new, purchased after my Bandit got destroyed in a accident, so all 2400 miles (I checked this morning on the way to work) are mine from new (sad!). I spent some time working abroad hence the lack of use.

It's surprising how much effect you can get from a relatively small change, only maybe 3cm higher and 2cm rearwards.
'scuse my ignorance but how do I go about this. What bars did you replace the originals with and where did you get them etc etc.

Thanks in advance.

You have never tried an SV fully until you have a different can on it!

I have a scorpion oval carbon end can in mind if I head down the path of improvement

I'd say put a cheap race can on it, there's plenty secondhand, then get out and ride it properly.

Naked SV, or even the higher bars fitted to your SV650S?

I used some slightly modified FJ1200 bars as a cheapo route, but there are off the shelf versions available at extra cost (but depends how you value your time).

Check out this thread

Mine look like this

Hi Bigvern

Came across your thread doing a search for bar risers. If you are still interested in fitting a handlebar riser kit I am selling an ABM one from Streetfighter Store, it's in the "for sale" section of this forum or follow the link - http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=119462

Cheers

There you go - buy Nomad's risers, get yourself a nice pipe ( I can recommend the Fuel ) - fit and try - if you don't like it, take them off, sell the bike and the bits seperate - you've lost nothing but a bit of time - worth a try ?

or sell it and buy a naked one ?

I think once you hear the bike with a nice can on, it will enhance the whole experience of riding.
