Just try not to take too much of the finish off (ie the coating). This thin layer protects the metal underneath and acts as an antifriction aid. Obviously its better tyo have a smooth caliper - I have used polishing cloth on mine (Kwak pistons like to rust!) and some of the coating is missing, but try to keep this to a minimum.

Yup for general cleaning but sometimes for scratches it won't touch them

Ive found a bloke who does the pistons at 8 and 9 quid each in stainless. I'll take the sharp edges off mine and get new ones for the next time I refresh calipers, or have problems. Thanks for the advice guys.
