Well, got late last night before I could start to look at this but managed to get everything stripped right down to individual components. Got the board out of the case and got the front panel of the case (my case is rubbish and it was a right faff with all the wires and hidden screws!)

Anyway, got the on/off button wired back to the board and fitted the PSU. Pressed the power button and CPU fan span like a good un! Hopefully that means my board and CPU are safe and I just need to put it all back together. I'll be doing that tonight hopefully, if not tomorrow.

Good news, but tedious work though isn't it! I can't wait for the day they make the insides of computers a bit more rounded and easier to fit together; at the moment it is a tangle of spaghetti with some hidden razorblades thrown it!
