Good luck with the car test and whatever you decide.

I recently nearly threw the gloves in too, I just took some time away from the bike and the craving came back.

You will always have your licence (unless you do summat naughty) so you can always change your mind. ...... once and orger always an orger

I've been having these conversations of late.

My problem is I need my car licence for work and I quite like being able to walk.

I ride my bike for the buzz and adrenalin, and to achieve that I'm having to ride faster making injury or driving ban more likely.

I'm going to see how this summer goes and potentialy take myself off the road if fianances allow it.

I'll see how it goes.

As an alternative you could always SORN the bike for the six winter months so only have six moths tax and insurance
P.S. Buy dusters and polish as it is theraputic when you feel the urge

I keep thinking about giving it a bit of a break. Then I go for a ride and decide to keep at it just a little longer. Guess when I get back from an unenjoyed ride that is the time to sell up.

Luckily for me it's just for fun and doing the training stuff so I don't rely on it as a practical mode of transport. Do keep considering an off-roader to do some green lanes where there are fewer myopic drivers and it's more about control than speed so hopefully less likely to do any real damage.

Good luck with the test but I do wonder how long before we get the next instalment of "what new bike should Dan get" Not had one for a couple of years, well overdue!

The Hornet is on Bike Trader. If it sells I'll get a 125 until I pass my test, then sell that and get a car. Should have my test done in 6 weeks or so. 125's are still a giggle, not fast but a giggle.

I will soon be the not-quite-so-proud owner of a 2008 CG 125! Oh my god. Felt like riding a tonker toy but was surprisingly amusing on my jaunt to work. I got my knee down too.

Whoops, this was meant to be the safer option eh!

Mind you, 95 mpg and a 280 mile tank range will make my wallet happy. Not sure how motorways will be.........must get a pizza top box now to complete the image.
