Wire goes through that just to charge coil in relay. You got continuity through it? You tried bypassing it?
(that function of relay does not normally mess up)

im not up with the lingo but continuity means the voltage passes through it right ? if so yep the one way it does but not that way i would think, it seems to pass from the light side of the loom through the relay to the switch and not the other way round, i though it would be the other way around so the voltage come's from the switch in to the relay and out down the wire with the light on the end but the relay dosn't seem to let it do that
and the only way i can by pass it is if i tap in to the line's and dont want to do that yet, the bike wont even power on without this relay if that makes sense Last edited by barwel1992; 26-05-10 at 03:03 PM. |

Current goes from loom... to the light... then to earth.
Switch allows continuity to earth. Have you tried earthing the wire to the light yet?

how do you mean earthing wire to the light, i have tried using a direct earth from the battery to the light and connecting the blue positive to the light
![]() B is the light side A is the switch side |

Bloody hell, hard work!
Look at way that diode is pointing. One side of that bulb for neutral light is connected to a live.... current then flows back to earth. The neutral switch is OPEN when in gear and when you put it in gear it CLOSES allowing current to return to earth! So you have a wire coming out of your clocks for the light. Answer these 1 or 2 wires? if 1 wire does it show +12v? if 1 wire when you touch it to earth does the light illuminate?

Barwel. You do understand how a diode works, don't you? It will only pass current (power) through one way, so in your diagram the power will only go from connectors C or B (and D and E if the stand is up) and through to A. If you put a live to A then you won't see a reading at C or B or any other connector. I have a spare multi-function relay here somewhere.

as far as the wiring diagram shows its one wire (blue)
it shows not current at all when the ignition is on or off and nope |
