had 650 then gxsr750 for a very short time then my thou
thou is far more comfy, more power especially bottom end and obviously does silly topend suspension is 100 times better standard, sounds wuverly (duel zaust), its a great tourer , yet you can sill have serious fun on the twisties, good on fuel untill you hammer it, avon storm st2's make it handle really well in all conditions the 650 is smaller and far more chuckable, tbh its not really fair to compare they are so different, if you want a cheap bike for the backroads throw £300 at a 650 for suspension mods and your on a winner if you want a more tourable bike which still can have fun on the twisties go thou, ive done the isle of man tt course and long tours on both, the thou is soooooo much fun on the tt but there is so much power you can get into trouble, the 650 was almost perfect , a trip to europe id take the thou cos you can make it to where your going without being broken then hammer round a track or great roads just as easy. a perfect world have both the 650 for hooligan fun the thou as your proper bike feel free to ask any spiecific questions hth dave |

Two different animals really, depends what u want it to do? Personaly I loved my 1000 because of it's lazy riding style and loads of torque

I sat on a 650 yesterday at a local dealers and I did wonder wether the 1000 offered a slightly more upright riding position ![]() |
