give the helmet a good once over and clean the rubber seals around the visor, close the vents and go and see what happens. Just re-reading back the RS3 is well vented 'race derived' lid

I was meaning what version/ year

I have a K3 as well , never noticed a whistling noise of any sort really , a high pitched noise tends to stand out on an SV

Cool will try that as well. I am going out tomorrow morning after giving the helmet the once over and checking the airbox. Thanks again

When you say 'see if the snorkel is in' what exactly do you mean. Lifted tank tonight and air box is completley intact, no loose screws. The only snorkel bit I can see is at the front of the air box which I assume is some sort of vent???

Front of the Airbox , near the headstock of the bike should be a rubber "Snorkel" , this is a wide bit of rubber that comes out the front of the airbox and points downwards , just stops medium debris getting into the box like leaves and stuff . Imagine a Divers "Snorkel" but upside down , and the bike breathes through it

^ thats better than i would have put it.

the only thing is i have velocity stacks as well so they could cause the whistling so could just be my sv that whistles through the air box (didn't think of this when i suggested but worth a look under the tank any way)

Cheers guys, had a look and all intact. I will check tomorrow when i ride. The more i think about it the more I am begining to doubt myself and think it could be the helmet with the new visor. Will let you know after tomorrows ride. Thanks for all the help.
