In parallel - you are trying to increase the load on the flasher unit.

I converted mine to flush LED indicators a couple of months ago, tried using resistors to slow the flash rate but a) it didn't slow them b) it dimmed them far too much to be safe. I bought an LED flasher relay from halfords, disconnected the brown and light blue wires from the relay box and soldered them onto the corresponding wires on the new relay, covered them up and it worked a treat and didn't dim the light at all. If you're confident enough with soldering them/replacing the connectors so that they fit I would recommend doing this, you can pick up a relay off ebay for about £7 which works just as well as the £20 ones from halfords. I looked at the 7 pin relay on ebay which you mentioned when i was doing the swap, but decided that the £7 relay with a little bit of soldering would be just as good as the £35 replacement relay from ebay.
