Sorry to hear about the off, but you're OK (apart from the migrating 'nads ).

Sounds like Federer's offer is just what you need, someone to show you round the bits and pieces so you can build a little confidence. Most stuff is pretty simple if you take your time and think about it, and certainly no need to pay £45/hr for this sort of thing.

I would really advise you get someone who knows what they're on about to look over it.

Brake levers can crack in a dangerous but unobtrusive manner and I dread to think of the consequences of one snapping when you most need it. They are a tenner to replace...

Fairings and plastics and stuff... as long as they're not hanging loose they're fine. If it fails on that then just add gaffer tape until it doesn't. You don't need all that tupperware sh*te anyway!

They look pretty good without the side panels, just need to bodge some indicator mounts somewhere.

Just had a look at the bike , washed it down nothing seems wrong at the moment. That body kit is an unbelievable find thank you! Pick up only from essex is my only issue! Wow I wish I could take that.

Yes the offer was very kind, with my shift patterns it's more than likely possible I'm free on these days as they love making me work weekends, thanks FED! ~

In conclusion i need new panels, indicator and front mudguard.

Thanks for all your help , aching this afternoon !

If the plastics are so broken that they are flapping around and potentially going to either crack more, or catch on something an easy temporary fix is to get some small cable ties, drill a couple of small holes opposite each other either side of the crack and "stitch" the crack with the cable ties. It's not that pretty but if you put some gaffa tape over it you'll have a strong fix until you can either get the panel replaced or welded.

Ditto what YC said about brake levers, don't be tempted to straighten them if badly bent, just get a new one. Clutch isn't so critical though!

Can I take off the side panels , but keep the headlight fairing ? Would it look okay? Like you said just need indicator mounts , can anyone get me a picture of how this would look ? Cheers

Personally I think it looks crap like that. Ridden around with them off once or twice, it feels (to me at least) really unbalanced, not to mention your mirrors are mounted on part of the side panels

Do you mean the fairing lowers? These were after market if so and are fitted as personal choice. And I'd get someone in the know to check out the forks to see if they are still straight.
Good luck with it all though.

No they're not, they're on the subframe, side panel is held on by the mirrors...
