your phone account, seen instances of customers being cleverly directed from one call to another that the scammer earns money from (like an 0898 type call) without you knowing

Yes, I've done this, also left the phone near the Tv speaker

Also pretend they're trying to sell you something like a helicopter, and then you protest and say 'I'm sorry I have no need for a helicopter'

Or like one of my colleagues who had a double glazing salesman try and sell him a conservatory. He lived in a 1st floor flat

oh, and I described every single internal part of my Dell laptop but reversed every detail.

He gave up after about 1hour 45 minutes

Should have spoke a bit Japanese and Taiwanese as well mate

Had these people on a while ago, said I worked for the serious fraud office and the call was being traced. The receiver was down by office

One of these phoned Mrs DJF's dad a couple of weeks ago. He enjoys winding up unwanted callers so he got them to tell him the details of the files they were supposedly looking at. Then he asked if the computer needed to be on! This threw the guy a bit but he apparently rallied and said, yes, he should turn the computer on. So father in law got him to wait while he found the on switch and then "Oooh, the weather has just come on." "Excuse me?" "The weather. Oh, this must be the TV." Click
