As other people have said, it depends on the road and the conditions. There's no single correct answer here.
Coming home from work, I turn into my road off a main road at over 20mph (if it's dry and there's no hazards). If conditions are really good, then I'll just use a bit of engine braking and turn even faster, though this is rare. |

If you can see far enough so that you can stop in your lane then the speed is acceptable. It all depends on the observed and perceived risks (diesel, loose road surface, pedestrians, tyre temp, etc, etc, etc).
If it's all clear, empty, and you can stay in the right lane then why not? If you can't do any of the above then no; it's too fast!!! Speed doesn't kill! - People kill! Aren't echo's of other people's thoughts a good thing? |
