Front plug, WD40 & some heat proof grease in the short term. Fender extender for the longer term.

Don't jet wash the bike, which you've now learnt the hard way.

Yes, water in the front plug could in theory cause it to stall, and make the rev's eratic (unburnt fuel from the front cylinder).

Double check the plug when you're quick fixing the issue, if you're lucky it won't of fouled. Shouldn't of it it's only run for a mile or so.

rode her today and all seem's fine. Scared the hell out of me yesterday tho. I've got the haynes manual now, so hopefully I shouldn't have any more worrying problems

Default Wet plug

I suffered the same thing in a rain storm last week, except it didn't fire up again so we had to be recovered! Have since had a fiddle and ordered a fenda extenda which hasn't yet been attached. Have cleared drain hole, WD40'd it to death, dried off the spark plug cap and sprayed damp start to seal it.

Need to off out tomorrow on the bike for a few hours, however slightly hesitant as weather forecast is heavy rain on and off in the York area! Should I risk riding without the fenda extenda for one day?

Place your bets!
