Great work as always hun but heres an observations to help you out a bit.

The type of shots you take of the dogs means you cant always compose the shot as well as you like, ive noticed you go for very shallow depth of focus in these situations to blur the background out of focus. Thats definately one way to do it, however i find my eyes drawn to the out of focus items as they intrigue me tryingt o figure them out. The 2nd pic is a perfect exapmle. Clearly its some guy looking towards camera and its very distracting to the eye. I'd suggest getting him out of there altogether even if its just using the clone tool to cover him with the othe background items.
Same goes for some of the other shots, the soft focus of the background items makes it a busy pic to look at and takes away from the main subject of the shot. Eliminate those but not to the point where the background is entirely gone..unless thats what you aim to achieve.

Other than that nothing else i can comment on, so great work again and good luck with it hun.

You have what it takes Sam, I've been in the business for 19 years now and seen a lot of stuff. Your efforts are creative, you may have gone overboard sometimes but more experience through more work will tune you more so persevere. Be carefull not to overdo effects. Spidey gave some good points too.

the last one is ace..

I draw and paint and write poetry - a lot- !.. similar.. in terms of knowing when to stop.. when a thing is finished-- usually it tells me its finished itself-
like spidey says and zunkus- with age and experience it comes and you get to know when less is more -
however- you have it girl in spades- ..

and of course- pro- you will be working to a spec and remit by your client and will have to produce items for discussion and proof.. so theres loads o scope to add in or take out-..

right that said - tell me more about your sister..

Thanks guys for all your advice my best piece so far is the tyre cover which my friend unvailed to her husband for his birthday present it involved a couple of weeks of secret quirrel operations lol so he didn't find out. I actually saw the finished product last night as i was over there for his bbq birthday and just to see his face when he thanked me and the reactions of everyone it gave me such a good feeling. But that was very much a brief to follow and then consulting with the client to find out what she wanted added and taken out It feels strange that i am going to have a piece of art on display at all the Malmaute meets and Rallies

I just love doing this work and learning from what people say , it is so adictive though, and i do need to find the point to walk away and leave it alone.

Sammy, as I've said before, I absolutely love your work, I really do! It's fantastic- and because of it, I have got photoshop!! LOL!! If I can do only something that's slightly of the same quality of yours, I'll be happy!

If you need any pics of dogs, let me know, got one or two!

I am not a photo bod myself so couldn't possibly give any tips or such like, though I can echo what others have said in that you've obviously got a talent there Not a fan of dogs per se so the subject matter isn't my thing but that's by the by...

If you haven't come across it though, have a look at www.caedes.net and see if anything on there is any help. It's a massive photo site with some very very professional looking work (some not so), covering all sorts of topics, landscape, nature, portraits etc. etc. and it has a photoshopped section as well. I use the site mainly to see how much I could learn about photography when I get round to it and for setting my desktop backgrounds. It has a forum with lots of photo minded people for tips and such.
