Perhaps you shouldn't comment if you've not got a clue then eh?

people are entitled to their opinions, afterall i have seen mates on cbr6, and i also own a Honda, i don't belive any of the others have ridden one either so please stop going on about it. It was just question, and I purely based it on history, build quality and the feel good factor. its gonna be a de-rail if you like to go on. Honda all the way end of

I would have thought that the 'logical progression' - not that the choosing of a bike has anything to do with logic !! - would be either a GSXR 750 (which I personally think is THE BEST overall sportsbike around) or a move up to the litre class.
What would you really gain from swapping your 600 RR for a 636 ?

Agree with Supervox there, stick with the Honda or get a bigger/different engined bike.
Of course its your choice but personnaly unless the kwak really stirs your loins stick with the Honda for now |

Scoobs, didnt you want a B1H and ended up with the RR instead.
Personally try it, if you're thinking of changing then why not. Have you test ridden a B1H so at least you've tried one before you part with cash etc etc...

I have ridden the B1H yes. It is a fine bike and faster in a straight line than my RR, but ultimately I think it is slower. The RR handles better and does not wheelie like the 636 is prone to doing. However, I am being offered the 636 for a very good price. It has a lot less miles on the clock and I know it has been well looked after. I'm really in two minds, but I must admit I am leaning towards keeping the RR.
Put it this way. There is a bike for sale here. I had first refusal on the 636. If I don't sell my RR the 636 is up for grabs. It is an B1H registered on an 05 plate. Akropovic exhaust, single seat cowl, Gilles rearsets and chain adjuster / lifters, R&G's. If anyone is interested in either, PM me and leave your number and I will call you to have a chat about them both. |

If it were me I guess I'd look at how I'm using the bike, from everything I've read (and this is the only basis of my opinion!) the 03 RR lacks mid range, and the 636s were always supposed to be very good (whether that's down to the extra 37cc I don't know).
So if I ended up touring, or something like that, maybe the midrange is better, but if I only used it for the track, maybe the RR is best. I wouldn't go down the route of thinking of 'logical progressions' and such like, or what does one do when they get to a litre bike? Surely don't keep it forever, because it's top of the line in the 'logical progression'? I would say just think of what you want - if you try to follow something you 'should' be doing you may not end up with the best bike for you... |
