Didn't make any, but its something I have some interest in, and had a few lectures on, so I'm half-familier with magnetic materials.

Magnets dont need iron, by the way - iron based magnets are natural magnets (as in, they don;t require any special "non-ambient" conditions to become magnetic), but there are a host of materials that when cooled (and i mean properly cooled - we're talking less than 77 Kelvin, or below -196 deg.C), become superconducting materials (conduct electricty with almost - pretty much - no resistance). And with every electrical field comes a magnetic field (i think?).

The NMR machines used in chemical analysis have liquid helium in them (less than 4 deg.C above absolute zero), but nMRI machines used for medical imaging, which dont need as much resolution since the sample is so huge, get away with liquid nitrogen cooling.

Might have to try that one. How do you keep them from chewing the cables? More cheese?

Don't be ridiculous! You coat all the cables in very small cats. That keeps the mice off...

You also need a litter tray fitted to keep the cats happy else the bike smells of wee.
