The loss of smooth acceleration's only started with the recent cold and wet weather, which is why I was thinking carb icing.

That's carb icing.

Ive had carbs re-balanced and new plugs front and rear to be safe front plug was a bit grubby. ive received my fender extenda today in the post so i shall put that on tommorow. is there a good tool to make getting the front plug out easier.I tried using bits and bobs from tool kit that came with bike but its not much fun. im worried that he just changed plugs and as a result its cost me £70 labour for £10 - £15 parts. he may be telling the truth about the carbs but i dont know how to check. bike is running much better though.

If it seems a bit smoother at low speed then they're balanced
