There isn't much to it. As soon as you will take a closer look at it you will figure it out. There isn't anything you could do wrong (other than forgetting to tighten the nuts

I like to have my gear lever low down, also when adjusting it pays to pay attention as i managed to put mine on the wrong way and ended up with race shifting

Sorry to be such a noob. Can anyone point out or explain more clearly how to adjust the gear lever as I've just had a look and can't figure it out

I have the same problem with changing gear, but I think the root cause is the size of my feet vs the length of the gearlever. When my foot in the natural/comfortable position on the peg the end of the gearlever is way up my foot towards my leg and my boots/feet are very thick at this point so I have to make a really exaggerated movement to move my foot above or below the lever which is very uncomfortable. It's also very easy not to quite fully remove my foot after a change (due to the discomfort of angling my foot so far up/down) which means the next change doesn't work.
Adjusting the gear lever position has definitely helped a bit, but a gear lever which is a good inch or so longer would be perfect. Is there anything from another bike I could adapt? |
