+1 for just getting used to it, you'll be surprised how you won't notice it after a few hundred more miles. Just hunkering down with everything tucked and head down is as good as its going to get. Unless you use a car of course!

I'd say the middle of my foot on the pegs, got size 11's! could try it though - see if it helps.

Got a lid from a well known shop, £275 so hopefully it'll last. the wind noise is very bareable and right now it's a very snug fit. (was fitted out properly by the shop)

Getting the feeling that it's just a matter of getting used to it.

Cheers

I am afraid that this is the answer.

I have a bar conversion with high bars and I am sat up right in the saddle. I have a double bubble screen fitted too and still when I first did this used to get a sore neck. The answer is support your helmet on your shoulders, like a long protracted shrug. Also, don't sit in one position for too long, be fluid, move around and stay comfortable. For long distance, balls of your feet on the pegs, but be prepared to move so that you can reach your brake pedal if you need it!

Sound advice - cheers.

I'll have to get used to it. Just that having only had 125's in the past I never went on motorways or above 60/70 hence the opinions on positions.

Cheers

On long distances my bum suffers more than my head, so I tend to move around a lot, from a full crouch to sitting upright, practically sat on the tank sometimes. But that's on journeys a lot longer than 20 miles.

I test rode a naked and found my helmet squashed my nose about 90mph

So far as how to sit is concerned we are all different and it won't take you long to shuffle about a bit and find what works for you. Whatever you decide just try to stay relaxed, you'll soon wear yourself out if you have to sit with anything tense.
There are a few tricks to being comfortable on long bike trips but I'd say the most important thing is a good fitting helmet and earplugs as noise will quickly give you a headache and affect your concentration. Wear a neck tube which you can tuck up under your chin and behind your ears to keep the draft out for the same reason.

Resting helmet on tankbag is a good one for me, probably wouldn't work so well on a faired... As Jayney rightly says, being fluid and getting comfortable with moving about on your bike makes a world of difference. I end up waving my legs about (I particularly like "running" mode ), standing up on the pegs, resting legs on crash bungs...whatever helps relieve tension. And if it makes someone watching in the car behind grin then bonus
