You wouldn't want any of them. But thanks for the heads up on them - I'll pop in on Saturday.
Seriously, although I'm also looking in the neighborhood for something similar ( I'll be testing a VFR round the corner) I would choose the half faired. You get some protection from rain, but the full fairing is a pain to remove for servicing which will be every 8 or so weeks. I'm riding a SK5 with 100000 on the clock from similar riding. The mileage on those clocks is trivial. You'll get 60mpg easy and 140 miles before the light comes on. |

I didn't think of taking the fairings off every few months for a service.... While its a ball ache wouldn't the flip side of this be less gunk thrown all over the engine etc during winter riding?

Silly question, Anyone know where you can get a center stand for a SV from? and do they fit a fully faired SV?
Reason is I only have very limited room to turn the bike around in my garage and there is a hill leading up to the garage that I do not think I can turn the bike around on. Normally I would back the bike out but I will have to back it between a car and a wall with minimal clearance either side Or should I just kickstand turn this daily? There did used to be a centre stand kit for the curvy, I believe wemoto sold it, from memory it wasn't terribly cheap. I'm not sure it would fit a pointy, can't remember how it mounted. They may do a pointy version.
Personally I'd turn it on the side stand, or work out a turn table system if needed. Jambo

I tried thinking of a turn table system but cannot think of a way to do it without a center stand.....
will doing a side stand turn ruin the side stand if I do it daily? |

Well when I went for a test ride they had a 04 plate in black with full fairings that had 15k on the clock... It was 1k less than the 12 plate one with 4.5k on the clock so will be getting the one with 15k instead and save myself 1k
![]() Also took it home on the test ride and found out I can push it up the drive \o/ hurrar ![]() |

Surprised I didn't see you! I popped in but preferred the VFR and its roll on at 7000rpm

Sounds like a result all round. By the way when I'm manhandling mine on a slope I leave it in gear and hold the clutch in. That way I can "put the brakes on" with either hand either with the front brake or by letting out the clutch.

You could always buy mine for £2,750 and spend the rest on petrol or nice leathers etc.
Would save you a shed load in the long run as once you buy a standard bike, you'll spend pretty much half again modding it ![]() http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=201191 |
