On the 05/12/12 you posted on a thread regarding seat height. You give ref to a pointy. Please forgive my ignorance but what does pointy and curvy mean exactly

Curvy is the early bikes up to 2002, with a jelly mould fairing
Pointy is the fuel injected bikes that are not that good from 2003 to 2007
Pointy twin sparks are 2008 to now
Gladius or Gladdys are just ghey

Welcome to the nuthouse beepsy. Curvys are the older version with a slightly jelly mould fairing and round tubular frame, pointies are the current shape with a box section frame. Minor wars have been fought over which is best; basically, the one that you're riding at any point is the best (so curvy is best, obviously! ). Anyway, enjoy

look at the pic in the top right of the screen

from left to right

gladius, pointy bikini faired, pointy naked, pointy fully faired, curvy naked, curvy bikini faired, curvy fully faired

or also know like this, again left to right

svf , sv650s 03-now , sv650n 03-now, sv650s with lowers 03-now, sv650n 99-02, sv650s 99-02, sv650s with lowers 99-02

and yes the added mechanical discriptions above from the lads eg twin spark after certain years etc

basicly if its made before 03 its a curvy , after 03 its a pointy until the galdius comes into the mix everyone just calls that the gladis

HTH
