My european curvy (still on the continent) has one light for dipped with the second coming on for main beam. Is this the same or not the same as UK bikes?

And can I make boith come on on dipped or would I have to make a load of changes? Not that I really care as I don't ride much at night! But interested all the same.

No.

Both lights on all the time on a UK spec.

Sorry about the crap quality (Nokia phone on p*ss poor lighting), but take a look at the lenses please. This is what I meant when I said assymetrical. Are UK ones like this too?

Don't know about that, but I surely wouldn't mind mine being symetrical, both lights on at the same time, but with good quality! I have neither atm... Dipped work ok in town where you only need them to be seen, main beam really s*cks. Might be tempted to take a look at some of the better bulbs mentioned here, I guess...

I can concur on this point they are excellent and having the blue tinge (and me wearing a dayglo hi vis ) I did have a few cars braking and pulling over, especially if the road was a tad bumpy (methinks i was mistaken for our boys in blue)

You could rework them to do that i think. The projector ought to take a retrofit HID lamp without all the downsides you get from HID in a normal halogen headlight- the reflector maths are similiar. And you could, I'm sure, convert the other one to take a 60/55W H4 halogen dual filament with dip and main. Obviously the proof of the pudding is in the eating, but that'd potentially be a headlight setup to be jealous of.
