ah haaa - caught you out! I had to make my post make sense (before and after). The bike was a mess - the whole front end was smashed to bits- looks far worse than the accident actually was - only thing that survived was the clocks.

Yes it is an RS125 fairing - it almost works except it sits too far forward - with aload of mesing around might look alright, but I cant be arsed - twin headlights are on the way as I want renthals for town anyway. They only problem I have is that the forks and calipers look so good it makes the rest of the bike look totally sh*te. I realy dont want to chuck money at cosmetics, only to see it looking as rough 6 months later.

An SV-motard? Post a pic!

I think using the original wheel and brakes makes alot of sense as they cost a fortune, mine were all trashed otherwise it is a great suggestion poss. Less than £400 for the whole job (same money as a maxton rebuild and revalve etc???).

ahh I see - I used forks with radial caliper mounts, so no way to use conventional calipers anyway...

Mid 90s Northwind, something like 95/96 model. It was really nice being able to keep the steering lock.
One down side I have found with fitting USD forks is that your steering locks is reduced quite a bit, the forks are simply thicker so get close to the tank a lot sooner. It can catch you put in a tight Uturn!

If you do it with SRAD, you get better forks and you still keep the steering lock and parking lock Didn't effect turning radius either. Not quite a straight swap, but very close. The old forks look better though, I think, they're a bit mroe solid and the mudguard's nicer.
