In 5th? Yeah, that's not right I think. A lot of people find it won't rev out in 6th, which is fair enough.

My findings with a tomtom agree almost exactly with this (indicated 76 is really 70 for me, but it definitely gets further out the higher up the speedo you go).

How can a digital speedo be rectified if it is claimed to be out?

Well, there are 2 issues here... First, why have Suzuki made inaccurate speedos?

Second, surely there's an argument to suggest mobile GPS systems are not 100% accurate. You could say Mr Tomtom is as accurate as Mr Suzuki??? ... just a point of view?!

ps. For those of you who wish to reply to this with "GPS systems are 100% accurate blah blah blah" ..please don't waste your time... my point is the above posts are comparing one unknown quantity to another! .... However, I would like to get an accurate speedo!!

Most bike speedos are inaccurate... I believe it's partly a homologation and legal issue- if you had an eactly accurate speedo then fitted a tyre with a different radius, the end result could be that you unwittingly speed, for instance. Internet rumour says that it's illegal to make an underreading speedo but not an overreading speedo (naturally, internet rumour varies this for different countries of origin, it's always either America, Germany or Japan).

Speedo healer would sort it. Or, run the speedo off the rear wheel, and that will be close to accurate (that's how mine runs, but not for this reason.) Fitting a 120/70 tyre will approximately half the error too.

Nah, under 130. Error gets bigger the bigger the number.

nah...the most a factory bike should be out by is 10% at top end (unless chain & sprockets/gearing altered)...so worst case for 146 - 14.6mph = 131.4mph. as dyno'ed shows 138mph at max power - 9600rpm. think i'll stick with print out! not bad really when u think - 146 on clock = 138 actual...my clocks don't seem too far out!

And you arrive at this number by...

(edit... Sorry, I'm being needlessly snarky here, very tired. I think your reasoning's wrong... And dyno speedo output is as open to error as any other, I have a print showing my SV doing 130mph in 3rd But no need for the attitude, other'n that I should be in bed...)
