I believe that there's something out there don't know what but I've had a couple of experiences of things happening physical things things moving etc and seeing things when my subconscious would have no reason to put something there that 'wasn't' I don't think they were 'ghosts' but I think there's things in this world that we just don't quite understand yet.

The human brain is capable of fooling itself about many things and is undoubtedly an amazing thing with respect to how we can control complex tasks etc. But if you mean as far as exerting physical effect on the physical world, no, I don't believe that for a moment.

On the question of souls, afterlife(s) etc. I choose not to have an opinion, maybe I find out when I'm dead.
ok. Meditation. So ask yourself....if you could use meditation rather than drugs to control pain would you be taught how to do it?
I give you an example. I have practised very deep meditation for many many years. The one and only time that this became useful was when I had my son. Every person who knows me, is rather impressed that in three hours ten minutes I delivered my son, with no pain relief not even a paracetamol, and to those who I can't be bothered explaining to, was to them asleep through the whole lot, apart from the last ten minutes, had to be there for that part. To those who have a much higher intelligence, I can explain I used my meditation practises. I took myself(or my mind for you) out of the equation for about 2.5 hrs. Every contraction was dealt with by the technique I use. They try to tell you in a mild form when doing those birth classes breathing is the way to do it....but its a bit more than that.
Such was the magnitude of concentration to do this, if I was a lightbulb I blew myself out! I have never ever been able to meditate on such a scale again. I have to start retraining myself through this pregnancy if I want to deal with the birth in the same way.
You can lift yourself out with meditation, but I don't expect you to understand as your mind is closed. You can't fool yourself in child labour that its all a dream, an absolute impossiblity. Are you telling me I managed to fool myself out of the pain.....I very much doubt you can. I controlled it. Unfortunately I had to be present for the last ten minutes, was rudely pulled out of it by a little person presenting himself to the world!
But remember one thing, there is also another org member on here who practises this. In fact this member was in your house within the last fortnight, and also vistited my home with you. Before you condemn my mumbo jumbo would you condemn them too? I bet theres plenty more that use power of mind, they just don't admit it.

Only those who believe they really can use their brains for other abilities, do so, its the cynical and blind who cannot.

My parents house has had some form in it for many years. Hasn't always been there, it decided to stay after my grandfather died. You could physically hear cups being slid over the worktops in the kitchen, plugs being put in sockets and footsteps. This was heard on several occasions when we were younger. Every member of the family has heard it, most of us thought it was each other, more so after thinking one of us had come home from the pub late....then one night we all heard it together, and when the kitchen door was open nobody was there. It always occurred before a major family incident, be it good or bad.
One day it must have got bored as it decided to annoy my parents in their room, flickering suitcase handles up and down on the wardrobe. Both saw it together. My dad felt a very large present in the hallway straight after, almost as if whoever it is decided to return to the kitchen.
We believe whatever it is, is a guardian for want of a better word. Who it is dunno, but all is good, even though it gets really flippin annoying when it doen't make you a cuppa!!!
My dad isn't the sort of person to be swayed by religious carp, or UFOs etc, but he has met my grandmother, when she appeared to him, she disappeared when she knew her daughter (my mum) would be safe.

So you used meditation to control pain, I did not say this was not possible.*
However this is a FAR different prospect to supernatural happenings.

Just same as a guy running a marathon in a suit of armor, or a freediver making 1 breath last 8 minutes, sure it is a task of willpower but it does not try and invalidate the laws of physics.

*My comment about the mind fooling itself is with reference to many other "supernatural happenings". The mind likes to find pattern where there is none.
Take an example, you out at night rabbiting or something, strange noise spooks you... all of a sudden bushes and stuff look to be "stalking you". Of course they aren't, look at them with a fixed reference and you see they're just a bush, but if you stare at them they appear to move. It's not the ghost of thistle past... just the mind thinks up its own movement when denied a reference point.

I don't know if I believe in ghosts but Over the years I have seen plenty of wierd stuff when I'v been working on refurbishments in old properties that I can't explain, some of which are, moving chairs, flying christmas decorations-Just after I'd said Bah humbug and seeing a ghost (alegidly) at the same time that someone else saw it.
Whilst these incidents definatly happend I cant discount a the possibility of a rational explanation so remain sceptical

So what would you say about suitcase handles flapping up and down on there own, whilst sat watching TV in bed, when there is a known unexplained entity in the house?
No windows open, quiet calm through the house.

You can't tell my dad that they appeared to move, or my mum. You telling me it was in their head?

Id love to, it would be quite exciting. But no. Most things people take for being ghosts or supernatural just arn't, its just people want a "fantastic" reason for it.

Rational explanation somewhere. TV noise happening to hit the resonant frequency of the wardrobe door? Flashbacks? A dream and the power of suggestion?

Personally I'm happy with my closed mind not seeing all the ghosts and stuff . If any of it is true, our place is in this world, our business is with this life.
