Get racetec scrubs, they're brilliant. Should be able to pick them up for £20 each end with plenty meat for a trackday or 2.
That looks like a lot of bike ![]()

Oooooh man I want to have a go on that so badly. Not quite as peaky and screamy as a 600, but without the ludicrous power of a litre bike and lots of lovely torque...yer gonna have FUN.

Cheers it's definitely got more than enough power for me to get into trouble. TBH I would be happy with anything track worthy but the thought of this one is kind of exciting, I just hope I can do it some kind of justice.
I like the idea of the Metzlers too, especially the price. ![]() Wanted to get a van but road going costs are going to make it too pricey for me. Even so its crazy really, it looks like a 2nd hand trailer is going to cost me nearly 20% of the bike value. Anyway just got to get on with it and count down the days. James you can have a go when you learn how not to lock the back wheel up when you change down, especially not good to enjoy doing it! ![]() |

Seems a lot of posts just dissolve into the ether without a resolution, so I just thought I'd post an update. Many, many thanks to Hardhat Harry who's advice stopped me committing financial hari kari by buying rubbish trackbikes and steering me to this.
My initial trackbike prospect mentioned in this thread, never came to fruition so having sold the SV on Saturday I got this on Sunday. 11 hour round trip to St Helens, but it least it's done now. It's A 98 SRAD 600, the guy had it for 10 years on road and track and it has a 750 K1 front end, HEL lines and a few other subframe and cosmetic mods. Seems to go well and it was cheap enough to leave me some cash for a half decent roadbike. So there you go, end of story, until I post a "I highsided my trackbike, boo hoo" thread. ![]() ![]() |
